Manager, Total Rewards

The Manager, of Total Rewards is responsible for the design, implementation, communication, and administration of Flagship’s compensation and benefits programs across the organization.  This includes health & welfare, retirement (401k), wellness, leave administration, base pay, bonus/incentive, wellness, and vendor/carrier management.  Ensuring these programs are cost-effective, innovative, competitive, and valuable for both Flagship and associates.  Develop and deliver communication and education initiatives to help associates understand and appreciate the value of their total rewards package

What is a day in the life at Flagship as a Manager, Total Rewards?

Write and update benefit and compensation practices, procedures, and policies.

Manage relationships and contract negotiations with brokers, vendors, and carriers.

Develop and implement processes that are efficient, effective, and automating when possible.

Resolution of escalated benefit and compensation issues.

Manage budget for benefits and compensation programs.

Maintains knowledge of trends, developments, and best practices in compensation and benefits administration.

Identify topics and write communications for compensation and benefit programs.

Ensuring fair and equitable wages, bonus awards, and merit increases.

Lead and drive annual bonus and merit programs.

Review and approve job descriptions, FLSA classification, job analysis, Market pricing, and analysis of market-to-company ranges

Analyze pay data, overtime, incentive, and commission payouts.

Compliance with government and state legislation, regulations, and statutes.

Coordinate and drive the quarterly Benefits Committee.

Timely filing of the Health & Welfare 5500 and any other applicable filings.

Analyze benefit trends and claim utilization, and identify, and provide recommendations to address any concerns or outlier situations.

Monitor and review executive benefits, identify potential financial gaps, and make recommendations.

 Lead and manage the healthcare wellness program.

 Oversight of leave administration; disabilities, and return to work. Pregnancy-related medical leave. 

 Lead and manage annual health & welfare renewal, negotiate with carriers, HRIS enrollment system, communications, and open enrollment process

 Ensure compliance with ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, ACA, DOL, FMLA, IRS, OSHA, GINA, CARES Act, and other applicable regulations.

Review and approve job descriptions, FLSA Classification, job analysis, market pricing, and analysis.

Partner with People Operations Business Partners to integrate total rewards components into the performance management process.

Payroll: identify payroll concerns, work with vendors to address concerns, assist in payroll discussions and handling of outlier payroll cases.

Workers Compensation:  oversight for vendor relationships, escalated claims, and company process of reporting injury/disease cases.

Incentive plans: in conjunction with legal and finance support the various department's incentive programs.

Thorough knowledge of government requirements that impact benefit and compensation programs.

Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel; proficient with Microsoft Office Suite 

Prior working knowledge of Ceridian/DayForce

Education (Required/Preferred):

Required:  Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance, or related or equivalent work experience 

Preferred: Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS)

Preferred:  Certified Compensation Professional (CCP)

Experience (Required/Preferred):

Five years of experience designing, implementing, and administering compensation or benefits programs.
