Experienced Collections Specialist

We are excited to announce an opportunity for a Collections Specialist in a hybrid work environment! What You'll Do

As a Collections Specialist, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Account Management: Review and monitor delinquent accounts daily, ensuring losses remain within established guidelines. You'll engage with customers through incoming and outbound calls to encourage timely payments and resolve outstanding balances.
  • Skip Tracing: Utilize various online tools and resources to locate account holders, preventing repossession and ensuring the recovery of collateral.
  • Documentation: Accurately record all account activities, including verifications and demographic changes, to maintain comprehensive records.
  • Problem Solving: Identify accounts requiring additional attention and seek managerial approval when necessary.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other departments as needed to support business objectives.
  • Compliance: Uphold Flagship’s policies, procedures, and all relevant laws and regulations.

About You

We are looking for candidates who have:

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred (not required).
  • Experience: At least 3 years in a loan servicing role with direct experience in over-the-phone interactions. Bilingual skills are a plus!
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication abilities with a personable demeanor.
  • Active Listening: Strong listening skills with the ability to influence others effectively.
  • Organizational Skills: Exceptional organizational capabilities to manage multiple accounts and tasks simultaneously.
  • Team Spirit: A collaborative mindset that embraces continuous improvement within a team environment.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and working knowledge of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA).

Work Schedule

This position requires flexibility, with a commitment of 40-45 hours per week. You should be available for up to three Saturdays per month and one evening per weekend one rotating Friday from 10-7, along with some holiday shifts.  Compensation Information 

Hourly Rate:  $18.00 - $22.00, plus monthly incentive opportunity
